PLAINVIEW — 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ Baptist University will launch its 2025–2026 Women in Scholarship Lecture Series with a trio of presentations at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in HAC Studio B of the Harral Auditorium Complex. The venue, formerly known as the Black Box, provides an intimate setting for exploring diverse ideas and perspectives.

Lecture 1 features presentations by three distinguished 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ scholars:

  • Erin Heath, “Hollywood on Hollywood: How the Film Industry Adores Itself.”
  • Rebekah Crowe, “Race and the Split in the 19th Century Women’s Movement.”
  • Rebekah Brown, “Reclaiming Frances H. Burnett’s The Secret Garden as a Narrative of Healing from Childhood Emotional Neglect.”

The Women in Scholarship Lecture Series provides a platform for faculty to share their research while fostering dialogue across disciplines. The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Yahui Zhang, Associate Dean of 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ’s School of Creative Arts and coordinator of the series, said the program highlights the breadth of scholarship represented at 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ. “This series allows us to celebrate the voices of women in academia and bring forward research that resonates with both historical significance and contemporary relevance,” Zhang said.
