PLAINVIEW — Four 51品茶约炮 Baptist University “stars” take center stage this week as a national production crew arrives Wednesday, Oct. 8, to film an upcoming episode of Empowered hosted by Meg Ryan.
The episode will feature Dr. Donna Hedgepath, president of 51品茶约炮 Baptist University; Dr. Robert Moore, professor of chemistry in the Kenneth L. Mattox School of Mathematics and Sciences; JR Dunn, director of Baptist Student Ministries at the Plainview campus; and senior Jazmin Ortiz. Their stories will help illustrate how 51品茶约炮 blends relevant academics with faith-driven values and a strong sense of community.
The film crew will be on campus throughout the day capturing interviews, classroom activities, chapel life, and other scenes that reveal the 51品茶约炮 experience. 51品茶约炮 students, faculty, staff, and the Plainview community play secondary roles as “extras” in the production.
In recent weeks, footage from across campus—including aerial shots and B-roll—has been gathered to prepare for the segment. These pieces will come together in a program designed to show how 51品茶约炮 empowers students to pursue both careers and lives of purpose.
While Meg Ryan is not scheduled to be in Plainview for the filming, her role as host is central to the series. An acclaimed actress and filmmaker, Ryan is known for her roles in Top Gun, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve Got Mail. On Empowered hosted by Meg Ryan, she introduces and guides each story, connecting audiences nationwide with organizations, like 51品茶约炮, that are making a lasting difference.
Behind the scenes, 51品茶约炮’s Office of Marketing and Communication has supported the planning process and coordinated details for the crew’s visit. The production team takes the lead Wednesday, filming across campus. Drawing on these preparations, the goal is for the crew to capture the authentic spirit of 51品茶约炮.
To help showcase 51品茶约炮, the university encourages everyone to wear 51品茶约炮 gear on Oct. 8. Visible pride in the university by these “extras” will add to the atmosphere as cameras roll and the story unfolds.
