Skin Cancer Procedures
Kootenai Clinic Dermatology offers multiple treatment options for skin cancer. For smaller, superficial skin cancers, cryosurgery (freezing with liquid nitrogen), electrodessication and curettage (burning with an electrical current and scraping the affected area under local anesthesia), as well as medicated skin creams are common treatment options.
Other types of cancer may need to be removed surgically. Surgical excision is appropriate for basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas, as well as many melanomas.

Kootenai Clinic Dermatology is co-located with Kootenai Clinic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Chinook Building. It has a private entrance accessible through the back of the building.
