PLAINVIEW, TX — 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ Baptist University plans a program expansion of the Ben & Bertha Mieth School of Nursing to the university’s Plainview campus to strengthen academic opportunities in the West Texas region.
Upon completion of their pre-nursing requirements, students and others will be able to apply to the Mieth School of Nursing at the San Antonio or Plainview campus. An official announcement containing more details is expected later this month. University officials cite the need for and growing interest in nursing programs across West Texas, as well as the robust and highly successful science programs already available on the Plainview campus, as drivers of the decision to expand.
51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ officials say the immediate focus of the program expansion is on academic offerings and instructional delivery rather than facilities, reflecting the university’s commitment to support students at the start of their academic journey.
“This program expansion reflects 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ’s mission to serve both students and communities through thoughtful academic growth,” said Dr. Donna Hedgepath, president of 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ Baptist University. “By expanding our current nursing program to the Plainview campus, we are preparing students for meaningful, service-oriented careers while strengthening our impact across the region.”
Additional details will be forthcoming.
