HOCO '26 concludes Saturday with alumni fellowships and athletic events

PLAINVIEW, TX — 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ Baptist University will conclude Homecoming 2026 Saturday, Feb. 21, with a full day of alumni fellowship opportunities, athletic contests and traditional celebrations across campus.

Saturday begins with an Alumni Coffee Mixer at Broadway Brew, where alumni can visit with Director of Alumni Relations Jeffrey Vera, members of the Executive Alumni Board, and fellow graduates while enjoying complimentary coffee and pastries.

Athletics again play a major role in the day’s festivities. Pioneer baseball continues its series against Nelson University at noon at Wilder Field, offering another opportunity for alumni and friends to gather in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Basketball action follows at Hutcherson Center, where the Flying Queens® host Mid-America Christian University–Oklahoma at 2 p.m. The game carries a “Slam Dunk Royalty” theme, encouraging fans to celebrate Homecoming in festive fashion while supporting one of the university’s most storied athletic traditions.

The Pioneer men’s team will take the court at 4 p.m., also against Mid-America Christian. During halftime, the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced, one of the longstanding traditions of 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ’s annual celebration.

Campus attractions remain open Saturday afternoon, including the Malouf Abraham Family Art Gallery, providing alumni opportunities to enjoy the arts while reconnecting with friends.

51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ President Dr. Donna Hedgepath said Homecoming weekend reflects the strength of the university’s relationships across generations.

“Homecoming reminds us that 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ is more than a campus — it is a lifelong community rooted in faith, learning and service,” Dr. Hedgepath said. “We are always grateful to welcome our alumni back home.”
