PLAINVIEW, TX — 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ Baptist University honored faculty and staff members for their years of service and recognized retiring employees during the Employee Awards Luncheon held Thursday, April 9.
The event recognized employees across multiple campuses for milestone years of service to the university, as well as those concluding their careers at 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ.
“Today’s luncheon honors our employees for reasons such as years of service, promotion, retirement, and multiple areas of excellence. For each of you I am grateful,” said Dr. Donna Hedgepath, university president.
Thirty-year service honorees were Rosalie Hernandez and James Tillman.
Those recognized for 25 years of service included Rosemary Hendley, Donald Knox, Joshua Mora, Ralph Palumbo and Kevin Sweeney.
Employees honored for 20 years of service were Cassondra Collins, Beth Durbin, Debra Fikes, Orpha Linda Flores, Judy Jarratt, Pamela Landis, Jeannine Shackelford, Charlene Smith and Christopher Williams.
Fifteen-year honorees included Ashley Edlin, Arlene Hernandez, Justin Lawrence, Mee-Gaik Lim and Dena Sistrunk.
Those recognized for 10 years of service were Elisha Fitch, Bradley Henderson, Autumn Lass, Samantha Murray, Charles Nelms and Deetress Peoples.
Employees honored for five years of service included Rafael Aguilera, Denzel Bradford, T’Quira Brown, Brooke Caldwell, Stacy Gallimore, Clint Galyean, Ahydee Garcia-Perez, James Gregory Greer, Mike Hammack, Kendra Hart, Christy Henegar, Marcos Hinojos Jr., Claudia Lusk, Corin Olivas, Addison Pratt, Cesar Rivera-Garcia, Kimberly Sanchez-Tovar, Duncan Sweeney and William Doug Warren.
51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ also recognized employees who have retired or will soon retire from the university, including Sammy Van Hoose, John Richards, Debra Fikes, Ralph Palumbo, Kevin Sweeney, David Bishop, Judy Jarratt and D. Glenn Simmons.
“We are honoring individuals who have invested the majority of their lives in working at 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ, and for that we extend the highest level of thanks,” Dr. Hedgepath said.
In addition to service and retirement recognitions, the university also presented faculty and staff awards and Alumni Association Appreciation Awards during the luncheon.
The annual event provides an opportunity for the 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ community to celebrate the people who help carry out the university’s mission of educating students in an academically challenging, learning-focused and distinctively Christian environment.
