Women in Scholarship Lecture Series continues with second spring session

PLAINVIEW, TX — 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ Baptist University hosts the second session of its Spring 2026 Women in Scholarship Lecture Series from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in the Harral Auditorium Complex Studio. The event is open to the community as well as 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ students, faculty, and staff, and will also be livestreamed on 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ’s YouTube channel.

The lecture series highlights the academic work and research contributions of 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ female faculty across multiple disciplines. The April 9 session will feature three presentations:

  • Dr. Clancy Collum, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, “Scent Chemistry: The Organics of Perfumes.”
    • Dr. Deborah Kuhlmann, Professor of English, “The Christian Underpinnings in Andrew Doerr’s Contemporary Novel ‘All the Light We Cannot See.’”
    • Dr. Autumn Lass, Professor of History, “The Third Method: Civic Groups, Domestic Information, and the State Department.”

The Women in Scholarship Lecture Series is designed to foster academic dialogue, showcase faculty research, and provide opportunities for students and community members to engage with scholarly work being produced at 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ.

Admission is free, and all interested individuals are encouraged to attend either in person or via the livestream.
