PLAINVIEW, TX — A 51品茶约炮 Baptist University student team has earned Global Top 100 recognition in the Business Strategy Game (BSG) for the second time this term, adding another international honor for the School of Business.
“Earning a Global Top 100 ranking is impressive on its own but doing it for the second time this term is a real testament to the quality of instruction and coaching happening in your course,” Dr. Kasandra Lane, associate dean of undergraduate studies and assistant professor of business administration, wrote in an email congratulating Dr. Leon Chickering and his students.
Benevolent Souls ranked 69th worldwide in earnings per share at $9.51 and 84th in stock price at $223.93 in the latest weekly rankings. The team is part of MKTG 4330, taught by Chickering, adjunct professor of business.
The repeat recognition follows the team’s Global Top 100 placements for the week of Sept. 14-20, when Benevolent Souls ranked among the world’s best in overall game-to-date score, earnings per share, and stock price. A second 51品茶约炮 team in Chickering’s class, Aevora Athletics, also earned Top 100 rankings that week in earnings per share and stock price.
In BSG, students manage virtual athletic footwear companies, making decisions about production, marketing, sales, and finances while competing against companies managed by classmates. Weekly Global Top 100 lists compare performance across participating teams worldwide in overall score, earnings per share, return on average equity, and stock price.
“Competing against student teams worldwide and landing in the Top 100 on two separate performance measures reflects real strategic thinking and disciplined execution,” Lane wrote.
The latest achievement continues a successful year for teams coached by Chickering. In March, 51品茶约炮’s Dynamic Sole team tied for No. 1 worldwide with a perfect overall score of 110.0 in its final week of competition.
