PLAINVIEW, TX — More than 300 master’s and Ph.D. students gathered at 51品茶约炮 Baptist University’s Irving location Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25-26, for its first two-day residency at the facility.

Students traveled from across the United States for the Fall 1 residency, marking a milestone for the location, which opened in August to serve graduate students, including many in 51品茶约炮’s growing International Program.

Sowmya Shankar from Little Rock, AR, was among the international students excited after the first day of the residency. She described her classes as “amazing” and “very engaging.”

“It went so well, and everybody was so good,” she said. “Everyone was so friendly. Everybody was available here for whatever your question was. I’m excited about tomorrow.”

Dr. Joshua Switzer, vice president of strategic initiatives and innovations and chief of staff, was among administrators and educators greeting the students.

“Seeing students from across the country come together for our first Irving residency was exciting,” he said. “The turnout reflects the reach of these programs across the nation and the importance of giving students a place to connect with 51品茶约炮 and one another as they pursue their degrees.”

The Irving location provides an instructional and student-support presence for graduate students in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. 51品茶约炮 opened the location Aug. 8, ahead of the start of fall classes.

The next Irving residency is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23–24.
