POSITIONS SUPERVISED:  None 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Enrollment Coach represents WBU Hawaii to prospective and current students with the intent to recruit, enroll, and retain them. The successful admissions counselor and recruiter exhibits superior customer service and communication skills as well as professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with prospective students including phone calls, emails, text messages, campus tours and events, and information sessions held both virtually and in-person. 

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES: 

  1. Focuses primarily on the state of Hawaii area recruiting market for graduate and undergraduate
  2. Effectively communicates with a wide array of university constituencies including current students, prospective students, parents of both current and prospective students, alumni, trustees, and other university departments
  3. Travels occasionally throughout the market area conducting and/or hosting programs presentation in education fairs/visits and other activities intended to drive student engagement, including the military bases where the campus has offices. Creates and maintains organizations/associations contact lists to present/promote WBU with the intent of scheduling presentations.
  4. Manage admission processes through the Slate platform, including maximizing RFIs response times.
  5. Provides information regarding admission requirements, financial aid programs, scholarship eligibility, student life, and other aspects of 51Æ·²èÔ¼ÅÚ to prospective students and their families.
  6. Collaborate with undergrad and grad Academic Advisors to convert applicants into enrolled students by supporting students in submitting required documentation for admittance and motivate them to register for courses.
  7. Promotes student’s retention by closely assisting first time WBU Hawaii students during their first course session.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Associates degree, bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience and Knowledge:

  1. Two (2) years of proven experience in an office setting is required
  2. Experience in marketing and recruiting for a higher education institution is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Excellent oral, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills
  2. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  3. Independent problem solving, self-direction, and strong time management skills
  4. Skilled with word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and PowerPoint
  5. Must be able to build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  7. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information and situations with tact, professionalism and diplomacy

Work Environment: The work environment for this position is a standard office setting. Employees will work primarily at a desk or workstation, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.  The office maintains a controlled temperature.  Noise levels are generally moderate, with typical office sounds such as conversations and office machinery. 

Hours of Work: Plainview campus - Although full-time, nonexempt Plainview employees are normally scheduled to work 37.75 hours per week, the official work week for full-time salaried employees is forty (40) hours. External campuses - Although full-time, nonexempt external campus employees are normally scheduled to work 37.75 hours per week, the official work week for full-time salaried employees is forty (40) hours. Normal work days on all campuses are Monday through Friday

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stand and walk;
  • Frequently flex upper trunk forward while sitting or standing;
  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds;
  • Frequently carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally carry up to 25 pounds;
  • Occasionally push or pull objects;
  • Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees;
  • Frequently reach at or below should height, and occasionally reach above shoulder height

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance.
